Prayer

May your journey through the universal questions of life bring you to a new moment of awareness. May it be an enlightening one.

May you find embedded in the past, like all the students of life before you, the answers you are seeking now.

May they awaken that in you which is deeper than fact,
truer than fiction, full of faith.

May you come to know
that in every human event
is a particle of the Divine
to which we turn for meaning here, to which we tend for fullness of life hereafter.

Prayer Ministry

Our vision for this page is two fold:
The first is to gather great prayers written by spiritual visionaries of all life affirming
traditions. We will be updating and changing this section on a regular basis, so if you see a prayer and like it – please copy it for yourself.

Our second vision is for people to request prayer for themselves or loved ones. We will gather these requests, hold them sacred to our hearts and prayer space and keep them on our prayer altar for a month. If you have a need, please email: temenospastor@gmail.com – All requests are confidential. You may share as much or as little information as you wish.

We have added this first prayer in Light of Recent Events. For All who suffer, we pray…

Kuan Yin’s Prayer for the Ones who cause Harm
“To those who withhold refuge,
I cradle you in safety at the core of my Being.
To those that cause a child to cry out,
I grant you the freedom to express your own choked agony.
To those that inflict terror,
I remind you that you shine with the purity of a thousand suns.
To those who would confine, suppress, or deny,
I offer the limitless expanse of the sky.
To those who need to cut, slash, or burn,
I remind you of the invincibility of Spring.
To those who cling and grasp,
I promise more abundance than you could ever hold onto.
To those who vent their rage on small children,
I return to you your deepest innocence.
To those who must frighten into submission,
I hold you in the bosom of your original mother.
To those who cause agony to others,
I give the gift of free flowing tears.
To those that deny another's right to be,
I remind you that the angels sang in celebration of you on the day of your birth.
To those who see only division and separateness,
I remind you that a part is born only by bisecting a whole.
For those who have forgotten the tender mercy of a mother's embrace,
I send a gentle breeze to caress your brow.
To those who still feel somehow incomplete,
I offer the perfect sanctity of this very moment.”

United Nation's Sabbath Prayer for the People

We join with the earth and with each other
To bring new life to the land
To restore the waters
To refresh the air

We join with the earth and with each other
To renew the forests
To care for the plants
To protect the creatures

We join with the earth and with each other
To celebrate the seas
To rejoice in the sunlight
To sing the songs of the stars

We join with the earth and with each other
To recreate the human community
To promote justice and peace
To remember our children

We join with the earth and with each other
We join together as many and diverse expressions
of one loving memory: for the healing of the earth
and the renewal of all life."

Prayers of the People

“Creator hear us, for we are your children.
Father we thank you for all that you have given us.
We thank you for the lessons that you have taught us and
for the life that you have allowed us to lead.
We thank you Mother Earth for your beauty and sustenance.
We thank the masters of this universe
for their guidance, protection and direction.
Father we thank you for the white light that surrounds us, and for
that same white light which transmutes all negativity
into love and healing.
We thank you father, for the healing of our souls,
the healing of the Earth and for the healing of all mankind.
We call upon the power of the universe, to
allow us happiness, prosperity, healing and love.
We call upon the power of the universe for
good relationship to all things.
We call upon the power of the universe, for sacred direction,
sacred protection, sacred correction and sacred connection.
We call upon the power of the universe for magic and miracles.
We honor you Creator, as we honor all things seen and unseen.
We honor you Creator, as we honor our ancestors,
as we honor ourselves.”
– Grant Redhawk, Two Feathers, Native American

“That one I love who is incapable of ill will,
who is friendly and compassionate.
Living beyond the reach of I and mine
and of pleasure and pain,
patient, contented, self-controlled,
firm in faith, with all his heart and
all his mind given to me -
with such a one I am in love."
– The Bhagavad Gita, 12:13-14, Sri Krishna

“Beloved, to Thee I raise my whole being,
a vessel emptied of self. Accept, O Lord,
this my emptiness, and so fill me with
Thy Self --- Thy Light, Thy Love, Thy
Life --- that these Thy precious Gifts
may radiate through me and over-
flow the chalice of my heart into
the hearts of all with whom I
come in contact this day,
revealing unto them
the beauty of
Thy joy
and
Wholeness
and
the
serenity
of Thy Peace
which nothing can destroy.”
– Prayer of the Chalice, Francis Nuttall

May the Peace That Passes All Understanding Be with You Always
